It happens every year, yet each August we need to hit this point again. It's too early to issue the 2019-2020 winter forecast.

But kudos to the people who work for the Farmers' Almanac, they got the buzz going.

So here's what happened. The Farmers' Almanac released its 2019-2020 winter forecast on Monday and "polar coaster" was trending quickly.

Here's their forecast:

2019-2020 WINTER OUTLOOK

In Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, we are set to see "Frozen and Snowy" weather this winter. Yep. Anyone scared yet?

To humor myself, I wanted to see what their forecast was like last year. Just scroll up and down and compare. It looks nearly the same, just different synonyms for cold are used.

LAST YEAR'S OUTLOOK

So what can we take from this? The fact that winter will be here in a few months.

Even the Climate Prediction Center isn't boasting a forecast for winter yet and that group of forecasters is considered the national weather authority on such topics.

It's August and we continue to monitor the bigger weather patterns at play like El Nino, La Nina and more. So in the meantime, let's just be honest about winter. It will be cold, it will be snowy at times and goodness ... dare it turn bitterly cold?! I really like this take from meteorologist Brad Panovich. I mean, look at it, it's spot on!
