More than 4,500 Duke Energy customers lose power amid high winds, hail

High winds and battering hail left 4,500 Greater Cincinnati Duke Energy customers without electricity Thursday evening, according to the power company’s outage map.

The number had peaked earlier in the day with 16,337 outages around 7 p.m.

Duke estimated power would be restored overnight at most affected locations. Estimated times of restoration ranged from 8:30 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.

Parts of the Tri-State remained under tornado watches and other weather alerts, including high wind warnings.
