CINCINNATI -- Northbound Interstate 71 will close this weekend for deck patching on the Brent Spence Bridge and work in the Lytle Tunnel, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The right lane of northbound I-71 on the Brent Spence Bridge and the 4th Street ramp in Covington will close at 10 p.m. Friday. Northbound I-71 will fully close at 11 p.m. Friday; this includes the closures of the 2nd Street on and off-ramps and through Lytle Tunnel.
The Interstate 471 on-ramp will stay open, but there will be construction in the left lanes of northbound I-71 from Lytle Tunnel to State Route 562.
Traffic will be detoured using northbound Interstate 75 to SR-562. All lanes will reopen at 8 a.m. Sunday.
Additionally, ODOT official said bridge deck removal will close portions of Eggleston Avenue, Culvert Street and Sentinel Street nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. May 1 through May 5. These streets will close again at the same times May 8 through May 12.
The ramp from I-71 south to I-471 south and the ramp from Liberty Street/Reading Road to I-471 south will close nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. May 8 through May 12.
