If you’ve been making all your meals at home lately, Subway is bringing back a popular deal that might make you want to take a break from all that meal prep and cooking.
Thanks to fans asking for its return, the $5 footlong deal is officially back on Subway menus nationwide. Now for a limited time, you can get any footlong sub for just $5 each when you order two.
The $5 footlong deal is only at participating restaurants, so you’ll need to check your local Subway to make sure you can nab the deal there. No other discounts apply and extras like guacamole are an additional cost.
The deal includes any footlong sub, from the lower-priced veggie to the hefty steak and cheese. You must buy two sandwiches for the deal, but both will be $5.
The popular $5 footlong began in 2004, but it wasn’t until 2008 that Subway offered it nationwide. It actually began as just a quick promotion, but was so popular, it stuck around for a while.
While Subway employees have always worn gloves and made the sandwiches behind a glass bar, the sandwich chain says employees are now also wearing masks and receiving health checks at the start of each shift.
Restaurants are also being cleaned hourly, especially in high-touch areas such as door handles and credit card terminals.
You can also order your sub and pay through the Subway app so you only need to pick up your order when you arrive, which you can even do through the drive-thru if you’d rather not go inside.
If you prefer Jimmy John’s, that sandwich chain is also offering a deal when you buy two subs now for a limited time.
At participating locations, sandwiches are buy one, get one 50% off now through July 5. The deal includes 8-inch and 16-inch sandwiches, with the cheaper of the two being the one you’ll get for half-price.
