Rose Lavelle has been named the MVP of the 2021 Visa SheBelieves Cup as the U.S. women's national team secured their fourth championship Wednesday.
The U.S. Women's National Team won handily over Argentina 6-0 in the championship match Wednesday, after Megan Rapinoe scored early on a through ball from Lavelle.
The Mount Notre Dame standout and 2019 Women's World Cup star scored in the 79th minute to give the U.S. a 1-0 win in Thursday's match against Canada.
“Honestly I don’t know how I won that,” Lavelle told the Associated Press of her MVP win. “It’s always nice to be recognized, but I think there were other people that deserved it more.”
The U.S. is the defending champion in the SheBelieves Cup, first held in 2016.
Congratulations @roselavelle! 🙌
