Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is drawing criticism for comments he made to a female reporter.
During a Wednesday press conference, Newton said it was “funny” to hear reporter Jourdan Rodrigue for the Charlotte Observer ask him a question about passing routes.
“It’s funny to hear a female talk about routes. Like, it’s funny,” Newton said.
GQ Magazine’s Jay Willis tweeted a transcript of the exchange:

Rodrigue responded to Newton’s comments on Twitter:
I don't think it's "funny" to be a female and talk about routes. I think it's my job.

I spoke with him after and it was worse. I chose not to share, because I have an actual job to do today and one he will not keep me from.
