A pair of positive COVID-19 tests canceled two Friday night high school football games — one in Miamisburg, one in Milford — hours before kickoff.
The first canceled game would have taken place between Milford and Loveland high schools, but a Milford athlete’s positive diagnosis forced organizers to call it off. Milford’s junior varsity and freshman football games, originally planned for Saturday, will be canceled as well.
The second canceled game was a planned match-up between Miamisburg and Springboro. A news release posted by Springboro Schools athletic director Austin Rhoads referenced “a confirmed case of COVID-19 involving a Springboro High School team” but did not identify the patient as an athlete or coach.
Ticket-holders for either game can request a refund from their respective district's athletic office.
