The KHSAA board of control voted 16-2 Thursday morning in favor of Option 1, which was a decision that was upheld from a July meeting.
The decisions centered on strategies for interscholastic sports during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The state football finals are scheduled for the week of Dec. 7.
The KHSAA board of control also discussed two other options that would've included delaying some or most sports until the end of September or early October. But, those options were voted down.
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine gave the green light this week for all Ohio high school sports to start their respective seasons on time. The Ohio high school football season starts the week of Aug. 24.
