Moeller soccer coach Mike Welker can't emphasize enough how significant the loss of the University of Cincinnati men's soccer program will be for the area soccer scene.

"I can't put into words how massive this will be a ripple effect for the college recruiting scene in this city," Welker said.

Welker, along with UC players and Moeller graduates Will Lonneman and Ben Hegge, joined WCPO High School Insider to discuss the impact of UC athletic director John Cunningham's announcement the men's soccer program will be discontinued.

"Every kid that grows up in Cincinnati wants to play soccer for UC, but it's just being taken away now," Lonneman said.

Also, Colerain football coach Shawn Cutright joined the podcast to discuss how his program is managing with virtual workouts and coaches' meetings during this coronavirus outbreak.

"It's unprecedented times," Cutright said. "I think every coach out there is feeling sort of helpless right now. I know I am. A little concerned about football, to be honest with you, because you don't know what the future holds."

Cutright also discussed the verbal agreement to renew a high school football rivalry with St. Xavier in 2021 and 2022.
