High School Insider: Week 2 of the Ohio football season carries plenty of storylines

Week 2 of the Ohio high school football season is here.

If last week was any indication, this could be another thrilling adventure for some Greater Cincinnati area teams.

The WCPO High School Insider Podcast features La Salle coach Pat McLaughlin, senior quarterback Zach Branam and junior running back Gi'Bran Payne after the Lancers' 53-52 double overtime win at Elder last week.

Gi'Bran.JPG — La Salle junior running back Gi'Bran Payne rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns and had 54 yards receiving and two touchdowns in the Lancers' win at Elder Aug. 28.

La Salle (1-0), the reigning Division II state champion and Ohio's top-ranked team by MaxPreps, continues its Greater Catholic League South division schedule by hosting St. Xavier (0-1) Friday night at Lancer Stadium.

Also, Mariemont football coach Nick Leone joined the discussion to talk about the Warriors' opening win over Taylor and a significant matchup at Wyoming (1-0) Friday night.

Leone also discussed his first season as head coach in this unique summer.
