CINCINNATI -- Taft High School and others that use Stargel Stadium will have a brand-new facility by the start of the 2019 season, but fans at Taft’s final Stargel homecoming game said they’ll still miss it.
"The stadium means a lot to to the community," head coach Jeff Cargile said. "Just with it being gone, it’s going to be an emotional game."
FC Cincinnati plans to demolish Stargel, build its own Major League Soccer-mandated stadium on the site and rebuild Stargel on the other side of Ezzard Charles Drive. Members of the Cincinnat Public Schools Board of Education saw the first mock-ups of the new facility in August.
