SHARONVILLE, Ohio — Former La Salle quarterback MJ Horton will transfer to Princeton for his senior season.
Horton is one of the area’s top players entering the 2019 season,and has scholarship offers that include Louisville, Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Illinois and Arkansas Pine Bluff.
Horton, who is 6 feet 3 and 190 pounds, threw for 742 yards and seven touchdowns for the Lancers. He rushed for 362 yards and three touchdowns.
He was 15 of 21 passing for 247 yards and two touchdowns at Scott County in a Sept. 13, 2018 game. He also rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns in that game.
Horton enrolled at La Salle in January 2018after he started his high school career at Lakota West. He threw for 989 yards and five touchdowns and rushed for 134 yards and three touchdowns for Lakota West in 2017.

Princeton (3-7 in 2018) opens the season at Milford on Aug. 30. The Vikings are seeking their first postseason appearance since 2007.
Princeton has multiple other standouts including senior defensive end Darrion Henry, senior linebacker Jaheim Thomas and senior offensive tackle Paris Johnson,a St. Xavier transfer.
Johnson is rated the state's No. 1 player overall in the 2020 class, according to 247 Sports. Henry is rated No. 2 while Thomas is rated No. 4.
