CINCINNATI — The Bengals announced in a video posted online Thursday morning that they would be getting some new uniforms this offseason.
The video shows Bengals uniforms throughout franchise history before ending on a screen which announces the new uniforms are coming "Spring 2021." There is no word on what the new uniforms will look like.

Historically, the Bengals' uniforms have been derided as some of the ugliest around the league.
In 2011, Bleacher Report named their 27 ugliest jerseys from NFL history and the Bengals were featured on the list twice. Then, in 2020, former Bengal Boomer Esiason called the team's jerseys "horrific."
Paul Lukas from UniWatch, a website which discusses sports jerseys and team aesthetics, could only say one good thing about the Bengals' 2020 uniforms: that the team's uniform schedule was released before the season started.
Not a fan of the Bengals' uniforms, but one thing I can say for them: They always — *always* — release their jersey schedule prior to the season. Why doesn't every NFL team do this? pic.twitter.com/Wpr9ZDaJUo

Even with calls from around the league that the jerseys are "ugly," most Cincinnatians agree, the stripes on the uniforms should stay. The stripes were first introduced into the Bengals uniforms in '81, but it wasn't until '96 that the stripes became a main fixture.
