CINCINNATI -- Rookie Deshaun Watson will start at quarterback for the Houston Texans against the Bengals Thursday, NFL.com reported Tuesday.
Watson played the second half of the Texans' 29-7 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday. He threw a touchdown pass on his first drive.
"Deshaun went in there and made some plays," Houston coach Bill O'Brien said Monday. "Deshaun's a playmaker. He can make plays with his feet. He knows what to do. He checked us in and out of plays. He has good instincts out on the field."
Coming off a 20-0 loss to Baltimore Sunday, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said Monday that he anticpated Watson would start Thursday.
But will the Bengals be looking better this week? The team made room on the roster Tuesday for Adam "Pacman" Jones, who will be back from a one-game suspension. Also, the Associated Press reported that cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick was back practicing Tuesday after he was stepped on in the opener and wore a protective boot Monday.
