CINCINNATI - The Bengals’ 2016 preseason schedule features a nationally televised game at Jacksonville, home dates against Minnesota and Indianapolis, plus a road game at Detroit.
The Jacksonville game on Sunday, Aug. 28 (8 p.m., NBC) will mark the Bengals’ seventh national prime-time preseason game over the last seven years.
Dates and times for the other three games will be announced later this month.
The Bengals will host the Vikings, coached by former Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, in the preseason opener during the weekend of Aug. 11-15.
The second preseason game, at Detroit, will be played during the weekend of Aug. 18-22. That will unlock a series tied at 18-18. The Bengals and Lions played every year in preseason from 1970-2001 and have met occasionally since
The preseason finale vs. Indianapolis will be played on Sept. 1 or 2. The Bengals and Colts have met every year except one in preseason since 1992 and 24 times overall.
