CINCINNATI -- The Bengals may lose star wide receiver A.J Green for one or more games - or worse, according to ESPN.
Green could need surgery for a toe injury he suffered during the last-minute, winning drive against the Buccaneers last Sunday. Green will meet with foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson this week to determine whether surgery is needed, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Another injury - especially to one of the Bengals' top players - could wreck the team's playoff chances.
The Bengals (5-3) are on their bye week and host the Saints next week.
Green didn't seem initially concerned right after the game and told reporters he simply jammed his toe, according to ESPN.
"The toe is fine," he said before walking out of the locker room.
But Green has been wearing a walking boot since Monday, ESPN reported.
Green was hurt when he made an 11-yard catch over the middle with 17 seconds left against the Bucs. He came off the field and didn't go back in for the final two plays, including the game-winning field goal.
