The Cincinnati Bengals defense was able to shut out the 49ers in the first half of the game.
In the second half, it was clear that the defense had "taken their foot off the gas" which allowed the 49ers to score and get themselves back into the game.
Fortunately, the Bengals were able to hold on to their lead and win.
Still, should a team with a backup quarterback ever be taking their foot off the gas?
