CINCINNATI — FC Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati men's soccer's friendly, originally scheduled for Tuesday, March 5, has been canceled.

An expectation of bad weather has caused the teams to reconsider the friendly.

“We’ve been monitoring the weather the last few days and it’s increasingly clear that we will not have conditions on Tuesday sufficient to play a friendly," FC Cincinnati president and general manager Jeff Berding said. “Our first priorities are the health and safety of not only the players on the field, but also the fans who would come out. It’s just going to be too cold."

No make-up date is planned.

FC Cincinnati and UC have played against each other two times in the past. Once in 2017 and again in 2018. The Bearcats lost both times, 2-0 and 1-0, respectively.

Saturday, March 2, is FC Cincinnati's debut in the MLS. The match is against the Seattle Sounders FC in Seattle.
