CARY, N.C. - Danni Konig became FC Cincinnati’s all-time leading goal scorer and the Orange and Blue rebounded from their U.S. Open Cup ouster by regaining first place Saturday night.
Konig headed home a rebound in the 37th minute, Jimmy McLaughlin rebounded an insurance goal in the 87th minute and Evan Newton had five saves in a 2-0 win over North Carolina FC.
Lots of good individual performances on the road tonight by our @fccincinnati players but at the end of the day the collective team mentality and character preserved the shutout and earned #FCCincy the 3 points. Big week completed successfully. Another big week ahead.
