HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Northern Kentucky men's basketball has canceled its weekend series against Oakland and paused all team activities due to "COVID-related matters."

The Norse were set to take on the Golden Grizzlies Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at Oakland's Athletics Center O'Rena.

"Norse Athletics remains committed to following national, state, local, University, NCAA and Horizon League guidelines and protocol pertaining to COVID-19," read a statement from NKU Athletics on Tuesday.

On Nov. 27, NKU paused team activities following a positive COVID-19 test within the program. Three days later, the team's physician determined the initial test was a false positive after three confirmation tests came back negative.

Last weekend, the Norse split a two-game series with the Youngstown State Penguins at BB&T Arena.
