Bengals running back Mark Walton was arrested in Miami on Friday on a misdemeanor battery charge.
According to NFL.com, Walton was involved in an argument with a woman in downtown Miami, when his vehicle was blocking the entrance to a parking garage. The woman was recording the incident on her phone, and Walton allegedly grabbed the phone from her. A physical fight ensued as the woman tried to get her phone back. The woman received minor scratches from the incident.
"We are aware of the report involving Mark and are gathering more information," Bengals Director of Communications Emily Parker wrote in a statement.
Walton, 21, was drafted by the Bengals in the fourth round of the 2018 draft from the University of Miami. In his rookie season, he appeared in 14 games, ran 14 times for 34 yards and caught five passes for 41 yards.
Depending on what happens in the Florida courts, Walton may face addition punishment from the NFL for the incident.
