CINCINNATI — Cheer on the Reds as they play in their first playoff game (socially distanced, of course).

Organizers are hosting a watch party at noon Wednesday on Fountain Square so Reds fans can watch the hometown team take on the Atlanta Braves in the team’s first playoff run since 2013.

The setup will be similar to the watch party on Opening Day; tables on the plaza will be sanitized and spaced out, the Fountain Square bar will be open and food trucks will be lined up.

Emily Stowe, event marketing manager for 3CDC, said she hopes the event encourages people to come out and support local businesses.

"This is an effort to bring some life back into Fountain Square and Downtown,” Stowe said. “We had a really successful Reds Opening Day celebration at Fountain Square and Washington Park, so one of our goals is to keep these civic spaces busy and active and that’s been hard during COVID.”

Anyone who attends the watch party must wear a mask, but the mask can be removed once you’re at your seat.
