Select Specialty Hospital is holding a virtual hiring event on Tuesday with sign-on bonuses for nurses and certified nursing assistants.
The company, which is hiring for its Cincinnati and Montgomery locations, will offer the following sign-on bonuses:
- $10,000 signing bonus for full-time nurses
- $4,000 signing bonus for full-time certified nursing assistants
Select Specialty Hospital specializes in long-term care for chronically ill or post Intensive Care Unit patients. The company is looking to hire people of all experience levels, including recent graduates.
Tyler Shovlin, vice president of human resources, said the pandemic has increased the need for health care professionals at Select Speciality Hospital.
Shovlin said a patient’s average length of stay is about 25 to 30 days, and while employees have tried to get creative with video chats and phone calls, Shovlin said the company is looking to hire health care professionals who can show they care.
"It's not easy. It's not something that's always glamorous, but in terms of being able to make a profound difference in the lives of others every day, there's, there's not many professions that can really have that sort of impact on a daily basis … we're really always looking for, for people who are looking to make a difference in the lives of others,” Shovlin said.
The hiring event for the 2139 Auburn Ave. location begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday and runs through noon.
Hiring for the Cincinnati north location, at 10500 Montgomery Road, will run from noon to 5 p.m.
