2019 really will be a new year for Bengals fans.
After another dismal season, Marvin Lewis' 16-year tenure as head coach ended Monday.
Lewis once fished the team out of its Lost Decade and even took it to the playoffs seven times, but his leadership could never carry the Bengals past the first round. Fans' calls to cut him loose intensified following a particularly spectacular last-minute playoff loss to the Steelers in 2015.
Now, those fans have their wish. Will the team be any better off? New Year's Eve is for nothing if not hope.
