CINCINNATI — After going out of business in December, 2019, the Keystone Bar and Grill in Hyde Park is back open for carryout to give you all the mac and cheese you can handle during the pandemic.
The way the restaurant came back when others are closing down is Keystone Bar and Grill is part of a local restaurant group called Four Entertainment Group (4EG). When other restaurants in the group started furloughing staff, some of those staff were brought back to reopen Keystone.
"It's funny, some people look at you like you're crazy, they're like you opened a restaurant during this crisis or pandemic?" Dan Cronican, a managing partner of 4EG, said. "The circumstances were there. We had the building, we've been there before, we have fans who we knew they would be happy to order from us again, we have employees who desperately wanted to be able to get back to work."
However, it's not clear if the restaurant will stay open once the pandemic is over. Cronican said if the restaurant does well, 4EG might come up with a plan to keep Keystone in Hyde Park open.
