CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati Art Museum will debut "Black & Brown Faces," a new exhibition featuring the works of 10 Black regional artists with a three-day celebration Oct. 23-25.
The artwork being displayed in the exhibition focuses on the facial expressions of people of color "during the extremes of 2020," according to a press release from exhibition organizer, Paloozanoire.
"We understood the Paloozanoire platform has a role to play in aid of our community due to the shortcomings of 2020 and this is it," said Rico Grant, founder of Paloozanoire.
Grant founded the nonprofit in 2019 with a focus on support and the growth of people of color in the areas of corporate leadership, entrepreneurship and creativity.
"Supporting regional black artists while placing a highlight on the significance of mental health and wellness along with uplifting our community to create a path forward, it doesn’t get better than that," Grant said. "We've partnered with some phenomenal organizations to make this vision a reality."
Other partners in the "Black & Brown Faces" exhibition include the Greater Cincinnati Foundation, ArtsWave, Cincinnati Art Museum, Besomebody Inc. and St. Elizabeth Healthcare.
