CINCINNATI — Covington's own Braxton Brewing Company opened its first Cincinnati location at noon Saturday.
The company opened in the former 3 Points Urban Brewery, located in the Pendleton neighborhood near Downtown.
"The owners of this space were looking to get out to focus on their core business, which makes a total amount of sense," said Jake Rouse, co-founder and CEO of Braxton.
Rouse announced Braxton had acquired the space in July.
Rouse said the opening of Braxton's new location in the space fulfilled a longtime dream for him and his brother, Evan Rouse.
"That's something my brother and I wanted for a very, very long time," Jake Rouse said of opening a Braxton location in Cincinnati.
Braxton's new location opened with the same lineup of beers that have made the Covington-based brewery popular across the Ohio River in Nothern Kentucky.
"Not immediately when we open, we will have wine and cocktails on tap as well," Rouse added.
Unlike Braxton's original location in Covington or its satellite locations in Newport and Fort Mitchell, the Cincinnati location will offer something different in the near future.
"We are actually for the first time ever actually entering into a foray with food," he said. "We've never had food in any of our spaces. So, partnered with the Parlor group, which is right next to Braxton. They have a kiosk inside our brewery in Covington. They are going to open a location. You can kind of see it, right inside the brewery."
He said the Parlor group location should open within the next three to four weeks.
