HEBRON, Ky. — A weekend trip to the Twin Cities looks to become a more practical option for travelers flying out of the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

CVG officials announced Monday that Minneapolis-St. Paul-based Sun Country Airlines will offer twice-weekly, nonstop service to the area, with one-way fares as low as $39, according to a news release.

The service will operate in and out of CVG on Fridays and Sundays.

"We're thrilled to welcome Sun Country as the newest airline to serve CVG," said Candace McGraw, CVG's chief executive officer, in the release. "Sun Country's low-cost, nonstop service to Minneapolis paired with its cargo partnership with Amazon offers strong alignment with CVG and will benefit the local traveler and our regional economy."

Sun Country aircraft will begin the new passenger service out of CVG on May 14.
