GREENSBURG, In. -- A Versailles woman was killed Sunday in a head-on crash in Decatur County, Indiana, according to Indiana State Police.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:15 a.m. Sunday on US 421 near County Road 700 east.
Rebecca S. Cole, 52, was traveling southbound on US 421 when her vehicle crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a vehicle traveling northbound. The vehicles collided north of the Ripley-Decatur County line.
Cole was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, 60-year-old Roger C. Horan sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash, and he was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Horan’s condition is not known at this time.
It is unclear why Cole’s vehicle crossed the centerline, and it is not known if drugs or alcohol played a factor in this crash.
This crash is under investigation.
