COVINGTON, Ky. — Over 250 feet of track, 12,000 individual pieces and 35 interactive buttons add up to one holiday tradition your family won’t want to miss.

This weekend, Holiday Traditions at the Behringer-Crawford Museum returned to Covington with impressive displays and festive family activities.

The museum, nestled in Devou Park, has hosted the miniature train displays for the last 28 seasons.

This year, John Lange said it took him and about 40 other BCM volunteers five weeks to build the displays.

“And though we’re volunteers, every time one of the kids comes and pushes a button and you see that smile on their face, we get paid,” he said.

Other weekend events at the museum include a Polar Express story time, an ornament-making workshop, live music and more.

The festivities run through Jan. 5. For a full list of the museum’s programs, click here.
