FOSTER, Ky. – The Kentucky Route 8 bridge over Snag Creek, near the Foster Dam, will close Thursday.
The Mary Ingles Highway is set to be closed to traffic to undergo construction for a new bridge, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
The new construction will be 33 feet long with two 12-foot lanes and 4-foot shoulders.
“The new bridge and approaches will be constructed to current standards that will provide better mobility for the motorists who travel this roadway,” Bob Yeager, chief district engineer for KYTC said in a press release.
A detour will take drivers to KY 8 to KY 2228 to KY 9 to KY 1109.
The closure will take place until Nov. 1.
