INDEPENDENCE, Ky. — An arrest was made Saturday in a hit-and-run in Independence, Kentucky, which sent one man to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with critical injuries.

The Independence Police Department said Michael Chandler, 43, was driving his Ford Explorer Wednesday morning when he struck a 61-year-old pedestrian near the intersection of Taylor Mill and Senour Road. Chandler fled the scene, but was arrested Saturday morning after an anonymous tip led police to the suspected vehicle.

After police located the vehicle, Chandler was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid with serious physical injury or death.

The pedestrian is still at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in critical condition.
