COLD SPRING, Ky. -- One person died and three others were injured after a Sunday night crash in Northern Kentucky, police said.
The crash between two drivers occurred at 9:42 p.m. on the AA Highway at Rocky View Drive, Cold Spring police said in a news release.
A driver attempted to turn left from Rocky View Drive onto the northbound lanes of the AA Highway, and pulled out in front of an oncoming cargo van traveling in the southbound lanes, police said. The driver of the van struck the driver's side of the car.
The driver of the car died at the scene, police said. One passenger in the car has life-threatening injuries, and a second passenger has serious injuries. Both were transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The driver of the van was also hurt but sustained injuries that are not life-threatening.
Authorities had the highway shut down for hours as they investigated; they reopened the highway at about 1 a.m. Cold Spring police are investigating. Anyone with information about the crash should call the department at 859-441-6289.
