OXFORD, Ohio — A driver died after hitting a Rumpke truck Wednesday morning on a rural road, according to Chief Michael D. Goins.

The driver was traveling eastbound on Stillwell Beckett Road when she hit the Rumpke truck at about 7:45 a.m. near Pamajera Drive, Goins said.

First responders transported the 50-year-old driver to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver was later identified as Beverly Ann Street of College Corner, Ohio. It’s unclear what led up to the crash.

The driver of the Rumpke truck was outside of the vehicle at the time of the crash and was not injured, according to Rumpke spokesperson Molly Yeager.

Rumpke area safety manager Bridgett Briggs called the incident “heartbreaking” in a news release.

“Our thoughts are with the family of the individual involved in this morning’s incident,” Briggs said. “We appreciate the quick response of the Oxford Township Emergency Personnel and the Butler County Sherriff’s (sic) office, and we are working to investigate what occurred here this morning.”

The Oxford Township Police Department is investigating the crash.
