LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. — A man and a woman were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a chase ended in a crash in Dearborn County Monday evening.

The pursuit began in Aurora around 5:45 p.m., where Indiana State Police attempted to pull a black sedan driven by Jesse Fuqua, 34, over to question him and another passenger about a theft at a WalMart, according to police.

Fuqua didn't stop and authorities followed him into Lawrenceburg, where he crashed into a pickup truck in front of Lawrenceburg High School on US-50, police said.

First responders transported Fuqua and his passenger to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for their injuries. The occupants of the truck were not hurt.
