Adaptive Reuse: American Can Lofts sign of better times for Northside
Historic status, credits key to factory's rebirth
The American Can factory turned out can-making machinery in Northside for half a century. When it closed, it stood silent for decades, a symbol of decay in Cincinnati's inner neighborhoods. Now, after a $22 million renovation into loft apartments and mixed-use commercial space, it is a again a symbol — of resurgence in those same neighborhoods.
