SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- It might be too early to think about back to school, but it's not too early for you to help Greater Cincinnati's teachers and students.

Kenwood Towne Centre is hosting a "stuff the van" event Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can drop off new school supplies at the Crayons to Computers van at the mall's main entrance, near The Cheesecake Factory. Monetary donations also are accepted.

You also can complete #MyWishForYou notes of encouragement that will be placed in backpacks, which are distributed this fall through Crayons to Computers' Teacher Free Store and Mobile Outreach program. Teachers can go to the store and get school supplies at no cost.

Schools that qualify are those that have 60 percent or more of the student population on free and reduced lunch. A high rate of Cincinnati's children -- about 45 percent -- live in poverty.

Crayons to Computers receives no funding from the government, United Way or school districts.

"If we don't have the support of the community through either donated product or financial contributions, it makes it very difficult for us to have items in the store for the teachers who come to get the year to a good start," said Amy Cheney, president of Crayons to Computers.
