With Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping out of the way, you might need to mail Christmas gifts to their recipients. The U.S. Postal Service is working to make that a smoother process this year with extended holiday hours at some locations.

If you need to mail a package in the U.S. before Christmas, mail sent by the following deadlines should arrive before December 25:

  • December 14: USPS Retail Ground
  • December 19: First Class Mail
  • December 20: Priority Mail
  • December 22: Priority Express Mail

Those dates only apply to addresses within the 48 contiguous states in the U.S. For a more in-depth table of holiday shipping deadlines using the U.S. Postal Service, click here.

FedEx offers delivery by Christmas for items shipped as late as December 23, but the company will charge extra delivery fees. Click here for more information on shipping through FedEx.

To find the latest day to ship through UPS, you'll have to enter address information into their website's shipping calculator. Click here for more info on UPS shipping deadlines.
