After Apple's big reveal on Tuesday of both the iPhone 8 and iPhone X (10 in Roman numerals, obviously), the Internet is collectively scratching its head.
"iPhone 9 can't come to the phone at the moment," Twitter user Sammy Albon wrote, "because seven eight nine."
We can hear you groaning at that age-old pun, but that doesn't stop us from wondering why iPhone 9 is left "sitting in a dark corner of a bar in a place where people only go to be forgotten."
Check out some of social media's responses below.

‘The iPhone X is the biggest leap forward’…damn right, they skipped 9 innit.

So after the iPhoneX (10) is the iPhone 9 coming out next or iPhone 11? #AppleEvent pic.twitter.com/yk2vg3D9Vb

The first person who reuses the "7,8,9" joke with iPhone 10 is getting a smack.

OK. So, WCPO is guilty of that last one. Our apologies.
