Online shoppers in the U.S. have spent $35.44 billion so far this holiday season, and $1.6 million of that was spent on Monday.
A report by comScore out this week says the overall holiday spending amount is a 15-percent increase over the same days in 2013.
Monday was the third-heaviest online spending day of the holiday season so far, following Dec. 1 and 2 — Cyber Monday and the Tuesday after. Cyber Monday broke $2 billion in spending this year, according to the National Retail Federation.
What is "Green Monday?" It is a label given to the second Monday in December, coined by eBay, because it is its biggest sales day of the month.
