CINCINNATI — As the temperature plunges this winter, Cincinnati's single digit forecast can become dangerous for many citizens lacking heated shelter.
Fortunately, there are a number of locations throughout Cincinnati where residents can go to warm up. Options like restaurants, shopping malls, movie theaters and other public spaces are always available, but other options are also open for those who don't want to spend money while they warm up.
All City of Cincinnati recreation centers will be open as warming centers during the day:

Officials and SPCA Cincinnati are also cautioning residents to bring in their pets as temperatures drop. If they cannot come inside, ensure they have enough shelter and give them access to unfrozen water.
If you can't avoid being outside, the Red Cross advises people to wear layers of clothing, check on one another, and watch for hypothermia and frostbite. Symptoms of hypothermia are confusion, dizziness, exhaustion and severe shivering. Symptoms of frostbite include numbness, flushed gray, white, blue or yellow skin discoloration, numbness, or waxy-feeling skin.
