CINCINNATI -- On Monday, 410 local high school students donated their hair to help women fighting cancer.
The women of Seton High School and some community members gathered for a simultaneous haircut and donated their ponytails to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, the only program to make free, 100 percent human hair wigs for cancer patients.
To date, Pantene Beautiful Lengths has donated 42,000 real-hair wigs to the national American Cancer Society Wig Bank, according to Pantene's website.
Pantene Beautiful Lengths's #8or8 campaign asks women to donate eight inches of hair or $8 in response to requests for alternative ways to donate to the program, according to Proctor and Gamble, Pantene's parent company.
