MASON, Ohio -- A 70-year-old woman was killed in a fire early Tuesday morning that caused a home to partially collapse.

Firefighters from Mason, West Chester and Deerfield Township responded to a home near Olympia Drive and Broadview Court shortly before 2 a.m.

Multiple firefighters at the scene confirmed the fire was fatal. The Warren County coroner confirmed that they found Romma Hunt dead in a rear bedroom. As of 1 p.m., officials have not yet revealed the cause of the fire. They remain on scene investigating the blaze.

The death is the Tri-State's second fire fatality in two days: On Monday, a 60-year-old man who neighborhood children called "Santa Claus" was found dead inside a burning home in Springfield Township. Firefighters said they spotted the homeowner's car in his driveway on Timbermill Court when they arrived at about 9 a.m., but they struggled to get inside for hours to see if he was home.

WCPO will update this story as more information becomes available.
