MASON, Ohio – It’s Valentine’s Day and love  - and job opportunities – are in the air at Kings Island this week.

What does one have to do with the other?

If you go to the amusement park job fair this weekend, you might end up like Nicole and Nick Holtman - happily married for nearly 10 years.

“I hired him,” Nicole said. That was 2002 and Nicole was interviewing job candidates.

“I was 16. It was my first job,” Nick remembered.

The two became friends and worked as game attendants, then they started dating. They got  married in 2008 and now they have three kids.

Both agree it's a great work environment for making friends and spouses.

“You go out after work. You hang out during work and you get really close. We fell in love,” Nick said. “We're as strong as we can be because of this place. I think [it set] a nice foundation for our relationship.”

Kings Island doesn’t guarantee it will happen to you, but the Holtmans said they know others who met their spouses working there.

”My sister met her husband there,” said Nicole. “Nick’s best friend met her wife there.”

Nicole made a career out of it, moving up the ladder to manager of admissions and guest services the past three years. And their kids – 9-year-old daughter and 8-year-old twin sons – are eager to follow in their footsteps, they said.

Kings Island is having a job fair at the park on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will make on-the-spot job offers.

The park is getting ready to hire more than 5,000 associates - the most since it opened more than 45 years ago.

So if you're looking for a job - or love - you may be able to find it there.
