DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A missing 5-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital after police found him in a retention pond Friday evening, according to the Warren County Sheriff's Office. Police announced Sunday that the boy died at the hospital the same night.
Deputies were called to the area of 7800 Birchwood Court in Deerfield Township for a report of a missing child with autism at approximately 7 p.m.
Authorities searched the area and found the boy in a retention pond. Officials did not release the boy's identity or confirm his condition.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
