DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Just like April showers bring May flowers, springtime means ducklings falling into storm drains.
The crew of Deerfield Township Fire Rescue Engine 56 rescued six ducklings from a storm drain Monday, officials posted on Facebook.
"This is a common problem during the spring and early summer months, where the ducklings are still small enough to slip between the storm drain grates," officials wrote.
They're right about that. Last year, ducklings made headlines when the same thing happened in Delhi Township and Butler County.
Firefighters advised that anyone who suspects ducklings or other animals are trapped someplace should let first responders know instead of attempting to retrieve them.
