BLANCHESTER, Ohio -- A round of "amorous role playing" ended when the male participant shot his girlfriend Wednesday evening, according to the Blanchester Police Department.
Police said both people involved had incorrectly believed the Glock pistol recovered from the scene was not loaded when the man pointed it at his girlfriend; it “accidentally discharged” and struck her in the torso.
Blanchester Emergency Medical Service rushed the victim to the hospital, where police said she would receive surgery that night.
No charges had been filed against either participant by 9:30 p.m., although police noted the investigation was ongoing.
