GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — An Uber ride turned into terrifying moments for a White Oak mom when a driver unknowingly took off with her 10-month-old daughter in the back seat.
“I felt like I was the worst parent in the world when that happened to her,” said Tramaine Bell. “I had never experienced anything like this before."
Bell, who also has a 2-year-old, says she called an Uber to take her and her kids to the hospital after her husband suffered a seizure at work. But after she took the 2-year-old out of the car, the driver took off.
Police were able to track down that car within half an hour and reunite mother and daughter.
Bell said the experience taught her a lesson.
"It scares me a bit now. It definitely will make me pay a little more closer attention to the kids,” she said.
“I'll never take an Uber ride or Lyft with two car seats. I'll eventually get my own vehicle. I don't think I'll be riding with them anymore."
Police say the Uber driver didn't know the baby was in the backseat and isn’t facing charges
