CPD arrest suspect in connection with teen killed Friday

Cincinnati Police announced Sunday night they've arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with the shooting death of 17-year-old Aurora McCarter on Friday night.

District 3 officers were called to the 3400 block of Bassett Road in East Price Hill at around 11:08 p.m. Friday night, according to a press release from the department. There, they said, they found 17-year-old Aurora McCarter suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police said McCarter was taken to Mercy Health - Queen City Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead shortly after she arrived.

Golf Manor Police confirmed they had an open missing persons case for McCarter; she was reported missing in July. Police said she was considered an "endangered runaway."

The Cincinnati Police is still investigating, and have not yet released any information about a suspect.
