AURORA, Ind. — Christmas has come early for the students, staff and parents of Saint Mary's School.

The school had to raise $400,000 by year's end to stay open through the current school year, and they did it.

An announcement at Saint Mary's 5 p.m. Mass on Saturday informed parishioners that the goal has been reached.

The school raised $116,000, and three anonymous donors came forward to make up the difference.

Principal Bob Brookbank says he's thankful and delighted things turned out the way they did.

The school will celebrate Monday at 1 p.m.
